During the years between 2005 and 2018 HAGCM invested much to support the Nakyessa Day and Boarding Schools; a Christian focus on education for this village community within Kayunga District. HAGCM also constructed the Nakyessa Prayer Palace Church before focusing energy on other communities of need within Uganda.

The COVID pandemic brought residual challenges to Uganda and as it emerged from a 2-year nationwide lockdown that included schools. When schools reopened, Uganda media reported there were over 630,000 girls and young women who were now young mothers with no resources to support them. Worse yet, these young mothers with nursing infants were not allowed back in school, leaving them ill equipped to care for their new family or prepare for their future.

HAGCM learned this same challenge had impacted Nakyessa Village and the surrounding communities. HAGCM felt compelled to bring support to and for these young women.

HAGCM partnered with Diamond Ministries Uganda, an indigenous charity focused on similar goals and together, constructed the new Nakyessa Women's Development Centre in early 2022. Its focus is to provide basic skills development that can lead to self-sustainability; each student is also provided spiritual support and instruction from daily devotional Measure of a Woman, authored by Dr. Gene and Elaine Getz. Each girl also receives considerable personal health and safety instruction from approved government agencies.

This project has been well received by the village communities who seek expansion to include many more young female victims. A gift of any kind will be fully applied to developing skills among these girls, including sewing, knitting, hair care, liquid soap, mat creation, block making, chapati making and so much more.
