Sudan

HISTORY

After the long civil conflict in Sudan, a Shiluk born man (Tijwog Agwet) and his wife chose to leave relative comfort of Egypt where they were receiving education, and move to Kaya, South Sudan. Kaya had been a focus of northern shelling but as safety returned, its residents trickled back to discover infrastructure of all kind was non-existent. Local leaders invited Tijwog to assemble international help to re develop Kaya and area and provided 60 acres of property to do so.

HISTORY

For 20 years Sudanese Christians had been under attack from northern Sudanese forces, forcing them into crowded refugee camps until a ceasefire occurred in 2007.
