High Adventure has joined indigenous Sudanese Christian Ministries to provide a multi-tiered community support for the town of Kaya, at the bery bottom of Sudan's south border at Uganda.

Among the most strategic and deeply felt needs are those expressed by women who have returned home from the 27-year civil war.

Women's Ministry

In addition, women from various conflicting South Sudanese tribes, and women fleeing from the Congo based LRA insurgents find their way to Kaya's Prayer Mountain where help is needed on so many levels. In all. SCM seeks to help 2000 women of all backgrounds at its ministry site on Kaya's Prayer Mountain.

For 5 years High Adventure and SCM has supported this work with sewing machines and training. But the need has grown so fast, many more sewing machines, materials and staff are needed to train and encourage the unanticipated numbers of women.

High Adventure also seeks to provide initial stage vocation support for instruction in development of indigenous small business focus and opportunities. A need for educational instructors is needed for this early stage.

A commitment to early evening training is also needed to manage so many requests, and electricty is not available at this rural site, so solar power is also required to operate the equipment and light the facilities.
