High Adventure began its support of the Nakyessa primary and secondary schools in 2004 when founder Bishop Grivas Musisi shared the vision for Christian education in this area where people from many Ugandan tribal backgrounds have settled.

High Adventure consulted with Canadian experts and developed an overall plan of school success that included an on-site medical clinic, water supply, balanced food supply and new, safe classroom facilities. High Adventure initiated this recommended plan as funding permitted, and several stages were undertaken simultaneously.

High Adventure began with a commitment to high yield milk goats to supplement student diet, followed by indigenous goats for harvest (providing support for the sensitive and expensive milk goats’ needs) and soon after an investment in a piggery. Most recent was the addition of the Nakyessa Bee project that now provides honey for students and income for school needs. All animals produce financial support to the overall school need.

High Adventure also committed to indigenous vegetable and fruit supply, supported by drip irrigation to ensure success in Nakyessa’s extended dry seasons.

This multi-faceted support plan through animals and agriculture is still developing, and requires support for all stages to bring it to maturation when the anticipated goal of self sustainable food supply will be achieved for all 600 students.
